Hayden Panettiere: 'Wake Up Call'

She's best known for playing the world's most talented cheerleader on US TV phenom Heroes, but Hayden Panettiere is one of those modern-day US stars who likes to have a crack at just about everything: acting, singing, modelling, designing handbags and even, in her free time, saving the whales. Phew! Did we mention she's only 18?

'Wake Up Call' is a rather bizarre choice of debut single from the hardworking teen, a flat, watery pop-reggae number that falls somewhere between Paris Hilton's 'Stars Are Blind' and an early Rihanna track. Panettiere acquits herself well enough, but there's nothing here to disprove the Paris Hilton rule - namely, just because you're in a position to do whatever you fancy, doesn't mean you should.
