Hayden Panettiere: 'Wake Up Call'

'Wake Up Call' is a rather bizarre choice of debut single from the hardworking teen, a flat, watery pop-reggae number that falls somewhere between Paris Hilton's 'Stars Are Blind' and an early Rihanna track. Panettiere acquits herself well enough, but there's nothing here to disprove the Paris Hilton rule - namely, just because you're in a position to do whatever you fancy, doesn't mean you should.

this is not an awful track, the chorus is catchy but its not something i would purchase and listen to over and over again, you hear it once, you've heard it all

You call this a harsh review? You should have seen some of the US comments! Hayden's done better stuff (like "Your New Girlfriend" and her assorted soundtrack cuts), but this grows on me after repeat listenings... and if drivel like Scouting For Girls and Flo Rida can get chart placings, surely she can as well. (The possibility that she might get some help from the video cannot be ruled out.)

Hmm, harsh review! I like Hayden! But I agree on the fact that it might become a flop because of her inexperience in the world of music.

Lets put it this way, she won't exactly having Leona Lewis practising her vocal range in fear, but its a good enough debut. A bit harsh with your review though!

I agree, it's not catchy enough to gain her a good place in the charts, hopefully she will pull something better out of the bag

Another TV star with no Talent. How boring. Her and Scarlett should stick to acting
