The Script: 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved'
It sounds like an interesting proposition on paper: Irish three-piece learns how to create 21st century anthemic pop songs from US R&B superstars. And on their first single, 'We Cry', The Script nearly pulled it off, earning Jo Whiley's approval and a top 15 chart placing. Unfortunately, second time around the results are weary, wimpish and wet.

Singer Danny O'Donoghue may train with Bono's vocal coach, but he lacks the fire-in-the-belly growl of the U2 frontman. His ultra-smooth style and mawkish lyrics seem to be lacking in any genuine sentiment and are reminiscent of Maroon 5 or OneRepublic at their worst. The relentless pleasantness of 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' will grind many into submission, but there's nothing here to suggest The Script have a long-term future in their current guise.

You are a delusional pathetic little little person who gets a kick outta destroying the success of anyone with talent just because you havent got any and the only area of show biz that would let you any where near it is being a critic. Well done mate - bet you feel great about yourself now!!! The Script are fantastic and ive met them and seen them live and they have a phenomonal and there is definitly fire in his belly. The emotion and passion he puts in to their songs and his singing is amazing. They are the nicest band and you are taking advantage of that. They are going to have a longer career then you can even have a hope of after this arse wipe of a review. They are extremely talented and their music is greatly loved. i would be surprised to hear you had even listened to the track before writing this joke!!! It is november now and Man who cant be moved has only just left the charts!!! Hope you loose your job over this, ohh and happy holidays!!!!! The five stars are for the song - they deserve ten but hey. there isnt a rating low enough for this review!!!!

you are so wrong! Danny does not need to be a copycat! which is exactly what you suggest de do. he has his own style and it is clearly shown in the album. you are a bad critic who cannot let go of the past!

Excellent song, great voice. The above review is pathetic, like the ramblings of a desperate teenager wanting to prove he is "different", just for the sake of it.

Just the first five seconds that I began listening to this song, I already felt something is so special. Melody and lyrics gives the true definition of what music really is. It's a FIVE!

I love U2 and think this band doesn't see themselvs as that. as usual media do it and the band feel the brunt. I think if you are DEAF! and shouldn't be reviewing music to be honest. if you cant hear this is a great song and band then mate give up. your ears are done, shot! probably not on your head anymore.

an AMAZING new band. I am so proud that they are an Irish band and are from a very working class area of dublin where I am from too. they worked hard and they didnt need talent shows/reality, Well done The Script - the album is amazing, proud to support a GOOD irish band!!
