I agree with what people like Pink and Katy Perry have said; this song trivialises people's feelings and people's love. It plays to this alleged fantasy that men have and really objectivises women. It's catchy, bandwagon-esque radio candy, a cry for attention, and it makes me feel ill.

Is much better than 'ur so gay', even thought I don't like what the song is about, I think its partly done just to shock. What you have to understand is that most commercial music is about the projection of an image and that maybe not be reality. The song dose'nt get to me on an emotional level but it is a really good song, I rated 5 stars

I find this song really offensive as a lesbian!!! All the rubbish about "I hope my boyfriend don't mind it" (because - yep - all women have boyfriends don't they & couldn't possibly have a GIRLfriend!). And "You're just my experiment" & "Doesn't mean I'm in love" - AARGHH!! Does she know how frustrating it is to be viewed as someone's plaything or a 'try-before-you-buy'?? This song is purely awful & catering just to teenage boys. The Jill Sobule version is SO much better!

I absolutely love this song and she definaltly deserves all the praise she can get. but it is such a shame that people take things to seriously and criticise her for singing about a "sensitive issue".

Homophobic trash marketed and sugar coated as a fun song. Demeaning to gay women. I hope this cash cow loses it's legs soon...

I abslutely love this song, it's so catchy and I hope it gets to number one on Sunday. I've been listening to Katy Perry for a while and really like her. I've listened to the album and think it's really good aswell, my favourite track was Hot and Cold, I hope it's the next single because I prefered it to I Kissed a Girl. It's nice to finally have something a bit different in the charts.

absolutely brilliant. don't recognise any queen influence, though, and katy said they were one of her first musical influences,

Ms. Perry has a large jaw-bone. Is she a man in drag?

I'm sorry but not everyone's into dire R&B/rap rubbish which constantly floods our UK charts these days! Wether she's a one hit wonder or not...who cares?..having a great catchy upbeat pop song come along every now and then makes a refreshing change. I should think the American public felt the same way considering how long it's been at the top of their charts. It'll be no.1 or at least top 3 here too. It's one of those songs that no matter how embarrisingly naff the lyrics are from the very first time you hear it it'll stick in your head and you'll find yourself singing along to it. Must admit though when i did start playing the you tube vid a few weeks back him indoors was giving me strange looks...lol.

I hate the over-analytical reviews that plague Digital Spy. This is a really, REALLY good track, its gonna be No.1 in the UK & Ireland for sure, so it must be good!

Well I love this song. It's catchy and a bit different, I quite enjoy, as a female, singing it out loud. If anything it's quite liberating and no I haven't even kissed a girl! :D It's not just for teenage boys! The parodies are also so much fun, please PLEASE release the "I kissed a boy" one, especially if it's another guy singing ;)
Shoebox Manc on August 5th, 2008
Well, the song at first sounds like it may turn out to be amazing....but it doesn't quite deliver. The production is tinny & weak and could have done with beefing up a bit. The lyrics are desperate and clichéd and while completely unoffensive to teenage boys and their pervy dad's alike, could be deemed offensive to actual Lesbians for the casual use of faux-lesbianism (which, by the way has become tiresome etc.). If this had been sung by P!nk or Ms Clarkson, it would be a career highlight (and by no means offensive), but just seems desperate sung by this lady. Harsh but possibly true.

I can't believe that the reviewer places Girls Aloud's 'electro-glam stomp' above that of Britney Spears, I recommend listening to Blackout a couple more times. Whilst this song is not 'groundbreaking' it's a good enough tune, and is bound to get people up and dancing.
