Biffy Clyro: 'Mountains'
Having spent the best part of a decade building up a devoted live fanbase, Biffy Clyro finally struck commercial gold with last year's Puzzle set. The radio-friendly singles 'Machines', 'Saturday Superhouse' and 'Who's Got A Match?' took the Ayrshire quartet from sweaty toilet venues to main stages on the festival circuit, the place where their experimental brand of heavy rock truly belongs.

'Mountains', the first track to surface from sessions with stammering LA producer "GGGarth" Richardson, follows the Puzzles template of restraining the band's wilder moments within a conventional three-minute rock song. With a monumental chorus ("I am a mountain! I am the sea!"), chugging guitars and a corny piano breakdown, it looks certain to continue Biffy Clyro's march towards mainstream success.
