The Saturdays: 'Up'

It's very much a case of so far, so good for new girl group The Saturdays. Their debut single, 'If This Is Love', glided into the top ten in August and since then they've been getting themselves noticed in all the right places, performing at the Kids' Choice Awards, shooting an appearance on Late Night Hollyoaks and soundtracking a US TV trailer for Ugly Betty.

Bearing all this in mind, it's easy to see the title of their second single as a statement of intent - after all, what pop group worth its salt is happy with the top ten when the top five's there to be conquered? Thankfully, this quivering electropop track sounds like a smash, boasting a memorable chorus, sharp, modern production and the best use of sirens in a pop song since Mis-Teeq's 'Scandalous'. Up is where they go from here indeed.
