Fall Out Boy: 'I Don't Care'
With every tabloid story about Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson's relationship, it becomes a little bit harder to take Fall Out Boy seriously. The Chicago band used to present a slightly edgy alternative to the mainstream with their mix of good looks, eyeliner and bubblegum emo, but with Wentz's private life now as well-publicised as Britney's, the band's appeal has diminished.

'I Don't Care' - taken from their forthcoming Folie A Deux LP - finds Fall Out Boy ditching the dark, chaotic elements that were the bedrock of their early albums. Instead, they opt for a straight up, Bolan-aping glam stomp that's surprisingly lacking in the thrills department. Patrick Stump's acrobatic vocals are impressive, but the rest of the band are on autopilot on this slapdash comeback.

Totally agree with posters suggesting what a silly review this is, clearly they've done something different but so what? It's catchy, fun and the video's great.I'm sure the album will be very different.Saw them live at the weekend, having only gone to accompany my 12 year old. and they were great, fully understand why Pete's so popular, never mind the looks,he was an excellent front man for the band (Patrick didn't say a word) and seemed to be an excellent musician too.

Fallout Boy make catchy records and this is no exception but I do think they look for far too much publicity today and they try and market Pete Wentz's good looks to gain fame! I mean name any other band who has such a popular bassist! Stump's vocals are impressive yet a big too grating and there even trying to promote the U.S. election by putting Sarah Pallin at the end of a video! So-so.

Have to disagree with the review. I love this song to bits, and as a long term FOB fan, I find the changes and inventions they bring to every album refreshing, because if you look closely, the early elements are all still there. You need to just sit and listen to the music, instead of focusing on the band's private lives. They can't help who writes about them; that doesn't stop them being stellar musicians.

Lets not put this song into catergories that it doesn't belong too. It is a good pop song with catchy rhythms and a sing-a-long chrous, which lets face it, its what "music" listeners of today want!!!!
