Jordin Sparks: 'Tattoo'

'Tattoo' cracked the US top ten a year ago, and went on to become a top five hit in Canada and Australia, but it stalled at #50 when it was released over here in April. Now, with Sparks having ingratiated herself to British pop fans with the terrific 'No Air', it's getting a second shot at UK chart glory.

And quite right too. Though not terribly original, this synth-heavy Stargate production is a cut above the average girly R&B ballad. A large part of its appeal lies with Sparks, who's as likable as ever singing these sweet, sad lyrics about a hard-to-forget ex. Actually, it's a welcome reminder of why she won American Idol in the first place.
