Alesha Dixon: 'The Boy Does Nothing'

If the tabloids are to be believed, Alesha Dixon lost her record contract and found out her husband was having an affair in the same week of November 2006. Two years later, having charmed the nation on Strictly Come Dancing, she's a bigger star than ever. Chalk it down to the powers of will and primetime TV.

'The Boy Does Nothing', a song that bears more than a passing resemblance to 'Mambo No. 5', is a smart choice of comeback single from Dixon. She could easily have wiggled her hips to its salsa-pop rhythms on Strictly, and the cheeky, lighthearted lyrics suit her personality. "If the man can't dance, he gets no second chance," she sings towards the end. On this evidence, Dixon has grabbed hers by the horns.

I love thsi song! it is a different take on music which is what i like about it and i find it impressive how much strictly come dancing had been influenced in the song and music video!! a great actchy, fun and great song with great vocals!

Terrible. Fail to see the fuss about this song. Most people would laugh at wannabees on reality shows looking to give their non-existent careers a boost. Looks like everyones fallen for this one!

im so happy that this song has reached the top ten at number 8 after the lovely knockdown couldnt do so. this girl deserves a break she has talent. unlike other pop stars or popgroups that do the same old beats everytime.
