Lemar: 'If She Knew'
It's always impressive when a reality show popstar manages to shed the "reality TV" tag. Will Young accomplished it, Girls Aloud have done it and, perhaps most surprisingly, Lemar Obika is now renowned for his impressive collection of hit singles rather than finishing third behind David Sneddon and Sinead Quinn on Fame Academy in 2002.

Lemar's soulful tones, which pitch him somewhere between Luther Vandross and Lionel Richie, are what separates him from the conveyor belt of Simon Cowell discoveries. For some reason he keeps his best vocals in the locker on 'If She Knew' and replaces his usual laid-back R&B with a futuristic pop sound that wouldn't sound out of place on a Kanye record. The results are slick and satisfactory, but this sounds more like passable album fodder than a storming comeback track.
