Scouting For Girls: 'I Wish I Was James Bond'

There's no doubting that Scouting For Girls have had an impressive 2008. Since seeing their debut album reach the top spot at the start of the year, the London trio have played to over 500,000 people during summer festival season and are about to embark on a sell-out tour. It's now time for single number five - and you've guessed it, it does sound rather similar to the previous four.

'I Wish I Was James Bond' tells the story of a boy wanting the lifestyle of everyone's favourite secret agent – the girls, the gadgets and "blowing the bad guys away". With an infectious piano-led backdrop and lyrics that would secure Roy Stride a pass at GCSE English, this latest ditty is certainly inoffensive. However, one can't help but think the band should probably be getting on with that difficult second album instead of trying to cash in on 007 mania.
