Craig David: 'Insomnia'

Aiming to capitalise on R&B's current fondness for all things synthy, 'Insomnia' has the same urban disco sound that made Ne-Yo's 'Closer' one of the summer's most popular songs. The Southampton man does a passable imitation of his stateside contemporaries, but 'Insomnia' is repetitive and lyrically uninspired compared to his previous offerings. And it's disappointing to hear David - an artist recently lauded for his contribution to British music - trying this hard to sound American.

Sounds like a cheap 'Closer' clone. Luigi Masi's 'Strobelight' also by Jim Beanz is much more innovative. Craig should stop trying to be a pop star, he should stick to garage.

The backing theme sounds like Chris Brown's Forever and Craig David sounds like he's singing Ne-Yo's Closer. Very Poor
