From Stefani to Snoop, Eminem to 50 Cent, Akon has collaborated with some of R&B's finest in the three years since making his chart debut. Why's he so in demand? Well, having notched up ten UK top 20 single in this period, he seems to have the Midas touch when it comes to scoring hits.

Consequently, he's stuck with his tried and tested formula for 'Right Now', the lead single from his upcoming third album. His vocals are as nasal as ever, the production's beyond meticulous and the lyrics, about getting his girl back "right now na na na", are typically uninspired. Having already cracked the US top ten, this looks likely to continue Akon's chart reign, but it's disappointing that so many will be seduced by such a bland, unoriginal offering.
