McFly: 'Do Ya' / 'Stay With Me'
Released on Monday, Nov 24 2008

'Do Ya', which manages to sound like it was recorded at the height of the 60s, showcases the group's unfailing ability to hammer out an infectious pop hook. Band member Tom Fletcher thinks its one of the best songs they've written and he's probably right. 'Stay With Me', a cover of The Faces' 1971 classic, is a slightly weaker offering, but it does prove McFly aren't ones to shirk a challenge. When it comes to charity records, they've just nailed the hat-trick.

Thanks for the great review! Do Ya is such a brilliant song and I agree with some other comments, that McFly are amazing songwriters. The lyrics are quite simple, but I love it!

Ive always loved McFly but this song made me puch my love up 1000%. They are the best band ive heard of, especially as they write all of their own music and dont lipsynch and play their own instruments. They are what real music is made of! Plus. . . Dougie is hot as hell! =) xxx

A lot of people are saying other bands can do the same, but i dont see the likes of take that or westlife playing their own instruments or anything like that. it is a great single!!!!

CJ, McFly are talented songwriters. Do Ya was never meant to be a song to show very good and meaningful lyrics etc, it was meant to be fun, easy to remember, easy to sing along to and the sort of song people would expect for the kind of charity Children In Need is. McFly have so many songs on their albums that are amazing lyrically with very meaningful lyrics (Down Goes Another One, Too Close For Comfort, POV etc).

Mcfly are talented alot of their songs on their albums are written really well This is exactly why they are good freinds with the Who,rod stewart and brian may who performed with them on their arena tour mcfly play a handful of instruments each People give them too much stick the oldest is 22 yet they all write, play, sing live produce their own music in their own studio and they are on their own label id like to see alot of you at 21/22 being able to do all that

4 stars? Is this a joke. The cause might be a very good cause but the songs are terrible. 5 stars for the cause, 1 star for the song. Mcfly are NOT talented songwriters, a 5 year old could write more mature lyrics. Also they are certainly NOT 'gifted' musicians, there are loads of pop bands who do the same sort of music but way way better than Mcfly ever will. I have heard this song and I think it is terrible that is an informed opinion. I just long for the day Mcfly will spare us all and disappear. You're not a serious band and you never will be so give it up, the joke has gone on long enough

Oh it's for children in Need so it must be good, sorry but no. More irritating pop pap from these 4 muppets, yea they sell records but i'm afraid that is a sad indictment of the british music buying public. I dream of the day people get some taste.

both songs are great, and i agree with the review 100%. It bothers me when they're accused of doing "too much" charity, which i personally thing is ridiculous. so thank you for not doing that.
