Hate this cover version so much, stop messing about with the classics! And I'm not tone deaf thank you very much, just because I don't like manufactured crap doesn't mean I'm tone deaf.
Rachel, Chatham on December 22nd, 2008
you are great!!!!!!! i wanted you to win you are superb!! go Alexandra !!!
Hannah, England on December 22nd, 2008
Love her voice, HATE the song!!
Jonti, Shropshire on December 22nd, 2008
Absolute rubbish. How could this get Number 1?
James, Liverpool on December 22nd, 2008
Jeez, X Factor, GO AWAY!!! Okay, Alexandra is a very good singer, there's no doubt about that. But these ruddy songs are getting on my nerves as they hijack every Christmas number one slot ever year since 2005 (little did I know Band Aid 20 kept Steve off #1) Not to mention that this year was a first, the song itself hijacked the top 2 places! The X Factor is spoiling the charts incredibly. Nice song, just release it earlier and stop ruining the fun of guessing the Christmas Number One.

She can't sing. Her version of the song simply horrible with nothing special about it, I mean she sounds exactly like Leona Lewis. Jls deserved to win as they were unique, could actually sing and didn't sound like every other manufactured thing that has previously won the X factor. Your are right with your review in one point though, that no one wants to hear another version of 'Hallelujah' so Alexandra just shouldn't bother with this single.
Ken Chadwick, Chorley on December 21st, 2008
Utter twaddle! How can some twenty and a bit slip of a girl understand and deliver a work of such depth and complexity, she can't and she murders it. Buckley gets there but listen too the master sing it on his 2008 tour, sublime, Cohen is singing better than ever now, and the song belongs to him.
Kelly, Edinburgh on December 21st, 2008
Manufactured rubbish.
Claire Painter, Birmingham on December 21st, 2008
A question for all you Alexandra haters... were you listening to her at all? you all are very clearly tone deaf. Its people like you who bring others success down. the words "green eyed monster" spring to mind.
Ann, Lisburn on December 21st, 2008
Kerry, your review says it all. This version is PATHETIC. I have nothing else to add, your review summed it up very nicely for me!
Kerry, Croydon on December 20th, 2008
Her throaty voice sounds like nails down a blackboard, atrocious rubbish that Simon Cowell has once again thrown onto the market for gullible X Factor lovies to hail as something special. I'd rather Cliff Richard got this Christmas's Number 1 as nothing could ever be less deserving then this load of tripe. And I think I'm alone in the wish that this talentless, cry-baby nobody doesn't become a famous diva. Please, can we not reward this woman who has nothing to set her apart from the hordes of other above average singers out there, by giving her success which she doesn't deserve. Uninspired crap. Awful doesn't begin to cover it.

I think alexandra is amazing and all you sad people that are calling her want to get a life. She is the best singer that has ever won the xfactor and the jls version of this song crucified it. Her version of this song was by far outstanding and many more songs to come will be amazing like her. And you should be proud that we've got such a great performer to represent are country that can do so many great perfromances and genres of music she is by far the best and NONE of the other contestants stood a chance and if leona lewis was in the same competition as her then neither would she WELL DONE ALEXANDRA AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!
Kate, England on December 20th, 2008
Pathetic, manufactured rubbish. But then again, that's what we've come to expect from the Xfactor.
Alan, Great Yarmouth on December 20th, 2008
After a very tense and tightly fought final Alexandra was a true worthy winner she will go on to be as big as if not bigger than leona lewis you can judge this girls talent on one just one christmas song.

Anta, East London,Essex on December 20th, 2008
I wanted JLS to win, their version of the final song was much more softer and true to it`s meaning. They sang it with such a needed Biblical and Christian emotion that could move any congregation to sing their hearts out, along with them .As for Alexndr every soong she sings sounds like she is belching out the words from the top of her voice. She just cn`t sing with soft clming tone at all and always ends up screaming out her chorusses, bless her she`s got talent and can go far but she needs to control the power she belches with or she will ruin herself eventually.JLS is and remains my winners. GOOD LUCK to the boyz may they have the best music career ever. The world longs for decent young boy bnd..give it up for JLS.

Brillianntt Songg But JLS Shouldd Havee One Asstinn Is Rather Fittyy !!
Rachel, Wales on December 19th, 2008
Your review said it all - it was meant for Diana, and to be honest I wouldn't have minded half as much if she had won and was releasing it as at least she chose to sing it at one point. Alexandra was near to tears when she found out 'Hallelujah' was the winner's song, rather suggests this is a heartless attempt at it, and compared to the other versions I've heard - it shows!
James, London on December 19th, 2008
Yet again another classic song (that most of the teeny xfactor viewers have probably never heard before) has been completely ruined by a poor cover version.
Lily on December 18th, 2008
RUBBISH
David, Liverpool on December 18th, 2008
She might have a good voice, but this version is manufactured, artistically worthless and nothing more than a ploy by a record company to make money. There's no feeling or emotional resonance, it's easily sellable trash.
Jenny on December 17th, 2008
Words cannot describe how cringe - worthy and awful this song is. She has destroyed the original. I am sick to death of manufactured pop stars from shows like the X Factor. Enough already!
Mannii, N.Wales on December 17th, 2008
i fink more ppl downloaded it cuz more ppl hav ipods now she aint as good as Leona Lewis. Hell no!
Christine, UK on December 17th, 2008
I think Alexandra has shed enough tears for the universe, get over it girl and move on for gods sake. there will only ever be one leona and you are not it. JLS should have won without a doubt and you will not last five minutes people have heard enough.
Kevin, London on December 17th, 2008
Congratulations, you are very talened, but i think if you had come 2nd or 3rd you would have had a more interesting career. Now i reckon Simon Cowell will mould you into Leona II, thus Alexandra will become AlexBLANDra, you have so much talent that will now be squashed! in the name of money not music....
Kenneth, Northern Ireland on December 16th, 2008
This girl is amazing, she brought a tear to my eye when she sang this song Halleluajh it was so emotional. She is such a lovely person and was far the best singer on the X Factor. She will be around for a long time. Well done Alex and Good Luck for the future.
Natalia, Kent on December 16th, 2008
I think Alex will do great things in the years to come. I love her voice and she is just amazing! I'm really happy that she won. I voted for her 30 times!!! Great song, great cover.

Peter, Alicante, Spain on December 16th, 2008
We love X Factor, never miss it. We love Leona, she is really special, always will be. We love Alexandra, the best in the competition by a mile and her version of Hallelujah was emotional, perfect pitch and just beautiful. We even like Simon Cowel, so there! We don’t like spiteful comments, they are always from spiteful people and therefore don’t count. Just one question, who is Jeff Buckley?
Stephen, Canterbury, Kent on December 15th, 2008
My dear Alex, Everything have time and season, it is your time and season2008, your season and time has come and also is a new beggining of you career. dont 4get God that gave the inspiration. you are a blessing.
Phyllis Trump on December 15th, 2008
Well done Alex , a well deserved win , i backed you right from the start and the single is out of this world , eat your heart out Leona , move over for Alex
Matt, West Midlands on December 15th, 2008
Her version of the song is awful. No disrespect to the girl but to me she just sounds like any other black female artist. It's a shame really that this is going to sell so well just because of the X Factor brand rather than the quality of the actual song/singer (no disrespect intended to any of the other versions of this song)
Steve G. N. Yorks on December 15th, 2008
It's a good performance - but personally, I wanted JLS to win, I preferred their version!
Charlotte Walton on December 15th, 2008
