Girls Aloud: 'The Loving Kind'
Everyone who's anyone seems to want a piece of Girls Aloud at the moment. Coldplay have lined them up as a support act, Take That want to collaborate with them and of course Simon Cowell's collared Cheryl Cole for his X Factor panel. Back with the second single from their chart-topping Out Of Control album, the girls show why they're fast becoming something of a national institution.

If 'The Promise' was the foreplay, consider 'The Loving Kind' the full-blown bedroom action. Penned by the Pet Shop Boys and produced by longtime collaborators Xenomania, it weds hauntingly melancholy vocals - full credit to Nicola Roberts here - to a sense of dancefloor euphoria totally at odds with the teary-eyed lyrics. The result is nothing short of dazzling, meaning 'The Loving Kind' deserves a place alongside 'Biology' and 'Call The Shots' on the list of Girls Aloud's finest ever singles.

The girls success speaks for itself! They clearly have a fan base and know how to appeal to it. The song is alright as are most of their tracks, I am by no means a particular fan of GA, but I do appreciate their success. Love the way that people assume that because they don't like a track their opinion is more valid than the record buying public. Rule of thumb is, don't like it? Don't buy it!

One of the best Girls Aloud singles yet... All the haters really need to just get over it. You probably would like this song if you didn't know it was by Girls Aloud! After reading a few reviews "they have stolen the Spice Girls image" ??!! What?! They do not have individual nick names and dress in different gimmicky outfits and their style of music is totally different! They do write some of their own music, but really who cares?! Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls ect do not write their music either at least Girls Aloud have penned a few of their own tracks. Anyway, they are just a fun pop act and the most popular in the UK and fast becoming in Europe with this album. They are at the top of their game right now and with this looking to be their record breaking 20th top 10 single I really don't need to say anymore! Keep up the good work Girls!

I totally agree, I think this is definately in their top 5 best singles. With Girls Aloud we know by now we are going to get something which you can dance to, but the vocals on this are brilliant. Nicola's bit is definately the best part.

Whoah, calm down DS! I do really like this song by Girls Aloud, but this is NOT a 5/5 song. Just Dance was fully deserved but to try and give this 5/5 is just ridiculous. Still really good though!!

GA have some cracking tunes don't they. This wouldn't make my top 3 of GA tunes. But it's up there. Just goes to show the importance of having a good song writing team. Bands often hit the skids when they get famous and make the mistake of wanting to write their own stuff. Thankfully, GA have the sense to stick to what they do best - performing and looking yummy!

I hope they release Miss You Bow Wow next to make up for this disappointment...Usually love them but this song doesn't show them off at all in my opinion

Five stars? Seriously? This group is the most overrated pop act in the UK. They sound like little girls, their voices don't complement each other's at all, they can't write and their songs make no sense. It's no wonder they can't sell half a record in any other country.

From the moment I heard this song, I knew it was gold! The single edit is even better! Hope it's another Number One for the girls!

It took me a while to really like 'The Loving Kind' but, I absolutely love it now!!! Nicola's voice is amazing and, the emotion and heartache that she portrays in her voice when she says ''I'd do anything...'' is so beautiful. The video is really good aswell, one of their best IMO.
