Jem: 'It's Amazing'
It's been four years since Jem released Finally Woken, her million-selling debut album, but she hasn't used her time away from the charts to reinvent her sound. 'It's Amazing' - a track which first appeared on the Sex And The City soundtrack last August - is pretty much exactly what you'd expect from the placid Welsh songbird.

Built around a drum loop that's just a tad harder than anything Dido would use, it's a typically soothing slice of midtempo pop - all positive sentiments and choruses that recall her breakthrough hit 'They'. To be fair, Jem does throw in some unexpected vocoder effects and choral backing vocals towards the end, but this is really just a case of cheering up a comfy old coat with some fancy new buttons.

I heard this new single last night at the end of Chris Evans' Drivetime show on Radio 2 and I thought it sounded fab - definitely going to get this one!
