The Prodigy: 'Omen'
Whatever happened to The Prodigy? At the end of the '90s their Fat Of The Land LP turned them into global stars and they were considered one of the best live acts in the world. Chalk it down to the relentless touring schedule or the sudden influx of glamour and celebrity girlfriends, but the band's creative energy dwindled and their belated follow-up, 2004's Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned, suffered from a crippling lack of ambition.

A decade on from their commercial peak, Liam, Keith and Maxim are attempting to recapture the rave-punk spirit of days gone by. The band reckon their upcoming Invaders Must Die album is a return to to their "old-school but cutting edge" style and 'Omen' suggests those claims aren't too wide of the mark. Mixing the rave bleeps and beats of their early career with the razor-sharp punk of FOTL, this is nothing they haven't done before, but there's enough ballsy spirit here to make it an enjoyable nostalgic romp.

I heard it on a website a few days back and I fell in love with the beat. Amazing!
