T.I. ft. Justin Timberlake: 'Dead And Gone'

You'd be justified in thinking that T.I's surname was actually "feat" or "featuring". Over the last 12 months he's collaborated with Rihanna, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Mariah Carey - not bad work for a convicted felon. Continuing on the same theme, his latest release features vocals from Justin Timberlake, previously his partner on 2006 smash 'My Love'.

After the slightly nauseating 'Live Your Life', 'Dead And Gone' offers a welcome break from the Europop sound that's infiltrated one too many hip-hop songs of late. Securing Timberlake on this track is the real winner though. His polished, distinctive R&B vocals are seeped with emotion as he despairs about "trying to find his way back home", neatly reminding us that his next album can't be far off now. As for T.I., well, he does an alright job here too.
