Gary Go: 'Wonderful'

With his trendy specs and geek chic dress sense, Gary Go looks like he should be in Hot Chip. Musically, however, he's a far more conventional prospect. That he's currently touring with The Script - with a support gig at Take That's summer stadiums dates to come - really says it all.

'Wonderful', his debut single, is the sort of Coldplay-esque soft rock tune that's bound to be played to death on middle of the road radio stations. It's undeniably catchy, but a more accurate title than 'Wonderful' might be 'Pleasant and reasonably uplifting but a little bit drab too'. Expect to hear the soaring chorus ("Say I am... wonderful") rather a lot on the X Factor audition shows later this year.
