La Roux: 'In For The Kill'
Had enough of the 60s revival? You're in luck, because 2009 is poised to be electropop's year. Having won the thumbs up from a healthy swathe of critics, south London duo La Roux have been positioned alongside Little Boots as the future of all things synthy and sizzling. Currently prepping for their support slot on Lily Allen's upcoming tour, Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid are about to release second "buzz single" 'In For The Kill'.

With Little Boots providing warmer, more accessible electro-disco delights, La Roux come off as the the uber-cool big sister (and mysterious, rarely-glimpsed brother). Propelled by Jackson's distinctive, bordering on the hawkish voice, 'In For The Kill' is the sort of song that sends a ripple up through your spine the first time you hear it. It's slightly odd, endlessly exciting and manages to sound quaintly old-school and positively futuristic all at the same time. Quite an achievement that.
