VV Brown: 'LEAVE!'

The last time we heard from VV Brown she was singing about "falling like a comet from the broken sky". The reason? Man trouble of course. Recalling the break-up that inspired her debut single 'Crying Blood', she told DS: "I pretty much fell, landed on a rock, split my head open and nearly died from the emotional hell."

Brown is well-qualified, therefore, to be offering sisterly advice on her new single. Here she informs a friend who's stuck in a "total catastrophe" of a relationship: "You're stupid and you know you gotta do it - leave!" The song itself, which mixes girl group pop with Ronson-esque beats and a hint of new wave, is just as direct as her message, but a whole lot easier to swallow. Thank heavens she chose to sweeten the pill!
