Depeche Mode: 'Wrong'

People whose only knowledge of Depeche Mode is The Saturdays' cheeky Comic Relief take on 'Just Can't Get Enough' might be surprised to discover that the Basildon act aren't a gaggle of camp-pop funsters. In fact, fans of Frankie and co. delving into 'Wrong' for another slice of daft electropop silliness will be pressing shuffle pretty sharpish.

Harking back to the Mode's late '80s pomp, it finds frontman Dave Gahan preaching gruffly over some sparse and murky electronica. "There's something wrong with me chemically, something wrong with me inherently," barks the singer while gothic, howling backing vocals swirl in the background. This won't be making the Radio 2 playlist any time soon, but pop fans who like their music grim and bleak will no doubt gorge themselves silly.
