Zarif: 'Let Me Back'
We've been gorging on soulful retro-pop divas for a couple of years now, but in case you still aren't fully satisfied, here's another one. Her name's Zarif, she's a North London gal of half Scottish, half Iranian descent, and she looks - if you squint - like a cross between Amy Winehouse and Betty Boo.

'Let Me Back', her debut single, is a chipper slice of soul-pop produced by Corinne Bailey Rae collaborator Tommy D. It's pleasant rather than earth-shattering - the sort of thing that will sound better when there's a bit more sun outside - but Zarif herself makes a good first impression. A nice bit of exuberance is always welcome - and her jazzy vocals have plenty.
