The Enemy: 'No Time For Tears'
Despite giving it a simply awful title (Music For The People), anticipation for The Enemy's second album is pretty high. The band's barnstorming 2007 debut We Live And Die In These Towns was jam-packed with the sort of football terrace singalongs many suspected Kasabian had patented. However, behind the loutish exterior and nicked Paul Weller riffs, there lay a pretty nifty songwriter in frontman Tom Clarke, who was penning lyrics about factory closures and job losses when most of us thought the credit crunch was a type of chocolate bar.

The band's homecoming shows at Coventry's City's football ground last year clearly signposted Clarke's intentions for LP number two. Second time around the amps have been switched up, his croaky vocals have grown into a growl and some anthemic gospel harmonies have been chucked into the mix. With lyrics about "take away dinners" and "England on a Saturday night", a gigantic tubthumping chorus and some pilfered riffs from The Clash's 'This Is England', the band wisely haven't tampered with their hit formula. If any British band is going to make the leap to stadium rock act this year, it's probably worth betting a fiver on these guys.

The new EP makes them sound like Kings of Leon, a great band but music is far too similar - dissapointed!!

first great rock n roll song since muse's 'time is running out' hit me in the stomach, i really like the new sound, and love the fact that we seem to finally be getting away from the legacy of the strokes, teh libertines, and the arctic monkeys
