Girls Aloud: 'Untouchable'

The original version of 'Untouchable' serves as the centrepiece on Girls Aloud's Out of Control album: it's a declaration of mutual solidarity, a raved up torch song and a pop tour de force all rolled into one. It also runs to a whopping six minutes and 51 seconds, which only George Michael thinks is a realistic length for a pop single.

Consequently, 'Untouchable' has been been chopped and changed for its single release. It now comes in a shade under four minutes and the girls' vocals, for no apparent reason, have acquired a bit of vocoder in the edit. Some of the epic quality of the original has been lost, but 'Untouchable' remains surprising, thrilling and strangely moving - in short, classic Girls Aloud.

I definitely agree with you DS on your comment about it being 'strangely moving' - I don't know what it is but it is. I think Untouchable is the epitome of a great Girls Aloud song. Hope it charts well!

4 stars? Seriously? Total pants. Beautiful robots? Sounds exactly like most of their other songs to me. Cheryl barely in tune, Sarah screeching. Kimberley pretty much talking. Nicole and Nadine are wasted in Girls Aloud.

bb i agree with everything you said if your being serious the sugababes rock they are classy, talented, hardworking, diverse(dont stay safe) real women and have the vocals what more can i say. even though their album didnt do well their music is much better than the loving kind with songs such as every heart broken, unbreakable heart etc cant wait for their next album. anyways let me talk about ga untouchable isn't a bad song its definetly a bit better than the loving kind.

Boring like all their other songs were are the Sugababes? They are Britain's BEST and REAL girlband not plastic skinny chicks like them. I think there's a chance that it will miss the top ten because it's has not enter the top forty. So Haha!
