Lily Allen: 'Not Fair'

If Lily Allen's getting sick of the tabloid frenzy that follows her every move, she's not showing it. "Well I lie here in the wet patch in the middle of the bed," sings the feisty songbird on 'Not Fair'. "I'm feeling pretty hard done by, I spent ages giving head." The headlines practically write themselves! A tale of sexual frustration and incompetent blokes in the bedroom, it will no doubt have all of her exes looking a bit sheepish.

While its crudeness ("Oh you're supposed to care but you never make me scream") may undermine assertions that Allen is some kind of MySpace generation poet, there's an undeniable charm to the second single from It's Not Me It's You. The jaunty Spaghetti Western backing track isn't a patch on the sophisticated electropop of 'The Fear', but fans who preferred the perkiness of her debut LP will be satisfied by this cheeky throwaway ditty.
