Patrick Wolf: 'Vulture'
Patrick Wolf, as existing fans will know, counts playing the ukulele, viola and accordion among his talents. However, anyone expecting hippyish folk-pop from a man dressed in a Global Hypercolor T-shirt has come to the wrong place. On this lead single from his upcoming album The Bachelor, everything remotely twee has been thrown out of the window and replaced with sinister glam-metal stomping.

'Vulture' is so dark it makes the 'Enders omnibus seem like a cure for manic depressives. "My d-d-d-d-d-d-dead meat," sneers Wolf over beats helmed by Atari Teenage Riot's Alec Empire. Like Duran Duran minus the hairspray or a seedier Depeche Mode, this track oozes so much filth that you'll crave a long soapy bath afterwards. Coupled with a bondage-themed promo video that could make even Madonna blush, Wolf is staking a claim to be one of the sexiest popstars of our times.
