Tommy Sparks: 'She's Got Me Dancing'
Tommy Sparks is a man much in demand. He's remixed singles for White Lies and Lady GaGa and collaborated with The Prodigy on the filthy and brilliant Invaders Must Die bonus track 'Wild West'. His own debut single 'I'm A Rope' attracted some impressive reviews and got many people tipping him as one to watch for 2009. Follow-up 'She's Got Me Dancing', currently picking up airplay on Radio 1 and Capital, will without a doubt build on that momentum.

It's catchy stuff, and for a song so brazenly aimed at the dancefloor it certainly fulfils its remit. It squeaks, it bounces, it squelches - it's even got the word "dancing" in the title just to make sure you know exactly what it's for. What's more, the bridge is eerily similar to parts of David Bowie's own ode to shaking a leg, 'Let's Dance'. The only problem is that for all its perkiness, it lacks the merest hint of depth. That's not usually a problem for fodder so plainly designed for getting down and little more, but here the knowing muso winks combine with the disposability in a way that can quickly grate.
