Kelly Clarkson: 'I Do Not Hook Up'

As soon as you hear the opening line - "Oh sweetheart put the bottle down, you've got too much talent" - it's easy to imagine Katy Perry singing this song. No surprises there. Like 'Long Shot', another track from Kelly Clarkson's current disc, 'I Do Not Hook Up' first appeared on a never released album Perry recorded in the mid-noughties.

But despite its less than auspicious beginnings, this is actually a bit of a corker - a giddy power-pop nugget with a Haribo buzz of a chorus. As for Clarkson, well, she tears into the anti-one night stand lyrics with gusto, and, without wanting to resort to cliché, Really Makes The Song Her Own. Well, what else would you expect from a singer who rose to fame on American Idol?
