Soulja Boy ft. Sammie 'Kiss Me Thru The Phone'

Drop everything, Soulja Boy's back! But first of all, a recap. Seemingly appearing out of nowhere, 18-year-old DeAndre Way somehow managed to persuade three million of us to download his debut single 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' before following it up with the equally moronic but less successful 'Yahhh!'. He's now back with 'Kiss Me Thru The Phone', already a top five smash across the pond, but will it be any more bearable than his previous offerings?

With a title you'd expect from Moldova's entry to Junior Eurovision, it doesn't bode well for Soulja Boy from the outset. Thankfully though, 'Kiss Me Thru The Phone' extends beyond the angry-sounding rants of old and is actually a fairly conventional late noughties hip-hop track: percolating beats, loads of synths and some rather uninspiring lyrics ("Baby you know that I miss you, I wanna get with you tonight, but I cannot baby girl and that's the issue"). It's not going to set anyone's world on fire, but credit to Soulja Boy for at least sounding like he's got out of bed for this one.
