Just Jack: 'Doctor Doctor'

Given the current infatuation with all things eighties, one could be forgiven for thinking that Just Jack had jumped on the bandwagon and covered the Thompson Twins' classic 'Doctor Doctor'. But in a recent interview with DS, Jack Allsopp described the fad as a "rip-off" and vowed to stick to his own musical style. Judging by his latest offering, that decision has clearly paid off.

Jack's own 'Doctor Doctor', the second single from his upcoming All Night Cinema set, showcases his sharp wit and natural storytelling ability. Relating the tale of a shop assistant who becomes infatuated with his boss, he addresses feelings of angst and confusion without skimping on the humour. "I just want this b**ch to notice me!" he proclaims as he launches into a chorus that will stick in your head for weeks. Some may be disappointed that the Thompson Twins are yet to be resurrected, but the rest of us will be too busy dancing to care.
