But even though 'Vegas' feels a little obvious, it's still hard not to sucked in. Opening with the sound of slot machines, this is a giddy pop-rock romp featuring an ace sing-along chorus and lines like "Did we get hitched last night? Dressed up like Elvis?" Proof that when she's not trying too hard to be outrageous, Perry can be lots of fun.

Her 09 releases are a bit rubbish, now I know of my mates will kill me for that but it's true. Hasn't Perry got better songs on her albums she could release?

It's alright, although she sounds a bit whiney in some parts of the song.
This is my favourite Perry song, it's fun, quick and really good song to dance/sing along to. I have really liked each song she has so far released, and I think each has got better and better (yes, including 'Thinking of You', I just think it was too slow to release but still amazing)... and 'Waking up in Vegas' is no different. I love it... simple as... So what if it's predictable, I don't believe she has gone out to release a set of amazingly written songs with deep lyrics and perfect musicality, I think she's having fun writing what she loves and bringing out fun pop music in a time when we all need a little fun...
This is such a better song than I Kissed A Girl! I love it!
This song sounds like Katy Perry trying to do her best Alanis Morrisette impression. It's no where near as good or as original as Hot n Cold, and everytime I hear it, I feel i've listened to it 100 times before.

I really like this song, although I don't think its as good as I Kissed a Girl or Hot 'n' Cold, but I think its still a pretty decent song. Should get in the top 15 at least.

I actually prefer this to her previous hits, although it is not as immediately catchy. A real grower and staple part of my gym playlist last month!
OK! This year been not as successful as last year for her. After starting the year off with her previous atrocious song 'Thinking Of You' which is one of this year's worst and dull songs according to me and my ears. Also, now Lady Gaga took over the charts. She's now struggling to even get a top 20 hit. Poor Katy. Anyway, this is OK! But still nothing special but I hope it becomes a top 20 hit at least for Katy's sake.

i totally love this song, great return to form for katy after her awful last song. this is what she's good at, such a great lively song and i agree, it's a lot of fun and really good chorus to sing along to.
its a great song with a great chrous and catchy versus but can get a bit dull after 10 or 20 listens. But due to the fact that Thinking Of You was a better song and that only managed a peak of 27 i don't think waking up in vegas should even enter the top 30.
