The Enemy: 'Sing When You're In Love'

Following a similar pattern, second single 'Sing When You're In Love' sounds just like The Jam covering U2's 'With Or Without You'. It's not the most horrible-sounding thing in the world, but it's probably among the most pointless. Moreover, while obvious influences Weller, Cocker, Doherty, Barât and the not-nearly-as-plagiaristic Gallagher often write about the everyday, they also have a knack for making those tales sound universal and transcendent, rather than hackneyed and contrived as they do here.

All bands rip off each other - it's kind of an accepted rule today in the music industry! The Enemy are a fantastic live act and can play instruments and write songs - unlike most of the usual rubbish in the charts these days! Its an honour to The Jam and Pulp that bands like The Enemy are going today in a era when music is all about fashion and dance routines! Afterall Oasis openly admit to ripping off The Beatles! And why not! Good luck to them I say!

i cannot stand this song! it's just plain awful, can't understand what made them think of releasing this as a single.

Hells no. This review is wrong, in no way does it sound like with or without you in the slightest. I agree with break the red tape and maybe that they could be more original. But it seems as if the reviewer tried to find a song to fit his/her point. It is actually a fairly good song and it is 'retro' rather than a blatant rip off. A 1 star for a song from the same albulm that they gave 3 even though here they cite several other songs from it as 'note-for-note rip-offs'? I don't think so.
