Noisettes: 'Never Forget You'
Break-up songs and make-up songs are ten a penny, but even-though-it-didn't-work-out-we're-still-friends-right? songs don't come around so often. But when they do, and when they're done right, they can be pretty devastating. A case in point is 'Never Forget You', the Noisettes' follow-up to the disco thrill of 'Don't Upset The Rhythm'.

Over a string-drenched slice of swooning, Spectorish pop, Shingai Shoniwa comes over all misty-eyed while reminiscing with her ex. "You know I didn't forget you," she assures him, sounding as delicious as ever. "We just got swallowed up by the whole damn world." This is so completely lovely, so happy and sad at the same time, it could give a Buckingham Palace guard a quivering lip.

I am really surprised how much I love this tune...It's getting all these comparisons to Duffy who I really can't get into. But this tune is effortlessly cool, breezy and sad!!

Brilliant song!! deserves to be in the top 3 but...we all know it wont get there = ( N-e ways this sounds like a 60s song with a 90s kinds feel twist on it!

Saw this live yesterday on Loose Women (lol I was flicking through the channels before work! :p) What a Summer tune!! I prefer it much more than "Don't up set..." Love to see it go top 10.
