The Saturdays: 'Work'
When they gave their first interviews just 12 months ago, The Saturdays brazenly declared an intention to sell more records than label-mates Girls Aloud. Some pop fans questioned whether the group had a USP, but four singles down the line, each having charted higher than its predecessor, there's no denying that Project Sats has gone really rather swimmingly. Hoping finally to bag their first chart-topper, the girls are back with one last single from their debut album Chasing Lights.

A standout example of the fresh, sparky electropop sound that's taken said album to platinum status, 'Work' is strong enough to withstand comparison with the brilliant Kelly Rowland single of the same name. Over pounding beats and synths that wouldn't sound out of place on a Rihanna record, the girls ooze attitude as they urge the boys to "work, work!" for their affections. This is as sassy and infectious as manufactured pop comes, but after a much-delayed release, could the girls once again miss out on that elusive number one?

This tune is off the hook I posted a few years ago that I enjoyed but now they are my favourite band, a must have for any 18 year old man. Pop all the way better than dubstep

It was a great song but it was obvious it wouldn't be number 1 due to other singles :/

This song is their best effort since Up what is wrong with people. The girls look fab and this deserves top 10 at least.

I love this song, and even though it's not as good as 'Up' I still think it deserves Top 10, and currently sitting at #27 on release week is not good enough! Come on people, get buying!

I love it! I prefer Up and Issues but this is still amazing. I saw them last night in Sheffield. They were absolutely fantastic, their vocals were near perfect and they put on a great show. Pixie Lott and Miniviva were great support too.

Of course this is gonna miss number 1! This is nowhere near good enough to top the charts. It's decent enough, but I'm looking forward to album no.2 later in the year!

I love this song. It's not my favourite from the song but it displays all the vocals well especially Ness' who as always is pitch perfect. I think it's a shame it got brought out so late cause it's actual release is this Sunday and it's only just in the top 30 when it deserves to be so much higher.

"...could the girls once again miss out on that elusive number one?", well i think that's a sure-fire bet. This is cheaply produced, badly-sung and sounds about 3 years old. One of their previous singles was ok, but I'm sorry to say that this is just filler. No offence to the Sats fans out there but I'd rather invest my money in music with a melody.

I would like to see them at number 1 but I don't think it'll happen with this one. Hopefully the lead single from the new album will do it.
