Jamie T: 'Sticks 'N' Stones'
Described by one critic as the "bastard lovechild of Billy Bragg and Mike Skinner", Jamie T is the perfect antidote to the current glut of shiny electropop starlets clogging up the top 40. With his idiosyncratic yodelling singing style and ragged post-Libertines guitar sound, he's about as polished as a discarded Glastonbury welly. The Wimbledon songwriter first caught the public's attention with his manic, genre-busting Panic Prevention LP in 2007 and he's now ready to launch a second assault on our senses with (probably) the first ever song to reference White Lightning cider.

A raucous four-minutes of rough-round-the-edges guitar-jangling and dodgy rapping, with tales of boozing/scuffling on the streets thrown in for good measure, 'Sticks 'N' Stones' should force a smile from even the most curmudgeonly of listeners. "Drunk and being sick, I feel like sh*t, I got to quit," sings T, before adding: "I hope I haven't missed the last train or I'll be stuck in Hampton Wick." Lighthearted, joyous and pumped to the brim with adrenaline, you'll struggle to find a better indie anthem this summer.

Fantasic single and if the other tracks are a sign of things to come then I really can't wait! Jamie T has to be one of the best things out there at the moment, long live mr T

After mild successes of Sheila and Calm Down Dearest, both of which being respectable songs, I wasn't expecting anything quite as brilliantly written and insanely catching as this. Quite simply, the track is fantastic and I hope Jamie T can finally breakthrough into becoming a household name because after this, it's most certainly deserved.
