Röyksopp ft. Robyn 'The Girl And The Robot'

Opening with haunting choral vocals and a bassline resembling a looming thunderstorm, 'The Girl And The Robot' soon lures you in with a quirky and charming tale of Robyn romancing an android. "I just sit here by the phone, don't deny me, call me back, I'm so alone," she sings with such emotional clout that it might offer a clue as to where she's been of late. Though not as instant as her 2007 chart-topper 'With Every Heartbeat', the explosion of swirling synths and edgy electropop beats on display here is ample compensation. It's unfortunate then, that with little mainstream support, news of the affair looks likely to be limited to a few die-hard fans.

Amazing song. Totally everything our chart needs at the moment

I agree entirely with Naughty Nick, this song does deserve a 5/5 and shouldn't be marked down just because it doesn't have mainstream support. Absolutely love the song, and the album!

Id have to say this song is worth 5 out of 5, not only is it catchy in a way different than the usual empty headed pop, or RnB crap, it also has a great video. Royksopp and Robyn independently or together deserve bigger recognition, this deserves top10 at least but sadly I don't think it would rise much higher because the record buying public generally will not go for this obscurity from the NORM.

Definitely a highlight from the Junior album, certainly. When Robyn sang this live with Tor and Svein in London earlier this year, it near enough brought the whole venue down. I think Tricky Tricky with Karin just pips it though... Would LOVE that to be a single!
