 Eminem: 'Beautiful'
Now that we've got the obligatory pop culture reference single out the way, we can get on with the serious business of Eminem's comeback. Relapse, as we've consistently been told, is a dark record, one inspired by the many setbacks suffered by Marshall Mathers III since he last gave up the rap game. What's disappointing, then, is how little he seems to have changed during his years away.

It kicks off with an intriguing Queen + Paul Rodgers sample, but from then on 'Beautiful' is essentially a retread. From childhood woes ("Dreamed of being that cool kid"), to the hassles of fame ("I dont need no f**king man servant"), to how empty life would be without him ("I'll be one tough act to follow"), we've heard it all before, though granted not with a chorus so mawkish it outdoes Christina Aguilera's hit of the same name. Halfway through the track, Em tells us he could have "stayed at home, sat on my a** and p*ssed and moaned" instead. To be honest, that might have been preferable to going into the studio to do exactly the same thing.

Two stars?! Is the reviewer on crack? I'd say this is probably his best one since "The Way I Am" or "Cleaning Out My Closet". Okay, not as radio friendly or upbeat as "We Made You", but you don't give the best rapper in the world two stars and give the likes of bloody blazin squad four stars! Get real!

Most of the people below are Eminem fans, so of course you're going to disagree with this review! I don't mind this song, it's ok, but I can't see it being in the Top 10. A disappointing track in my opinion, and I'm not an Eminem hater!

Hated this song at first but LOVE it now. A real grower and a step back up for Eminem.

fair enough eminem has produced some crap music on occasions, but this is not crap! there is real passion and meaning in his lyrics and it annoys me how underrated beautiful is. Relapse is awesome, and features the full-length version of beautiful. i love it personally and i think this should be topping the charts!

It's absolutely travesty that Evacuate The Floor is rated higher than this. This new reviewer hasn't got the foggiest what he/she's talking about. This is a top song, from the heart, with a great chorus. I'm perplexed as to why this has been given 2 stars, despite it being a bit moany. :S

totally disagree, i think this song shows why Eminem is the best at what he does. it's certainly one of the deepest and darkest he's ever done, very personal to him, you can tell he really means every word. it's a song of meaning and that's what people will love about it.

Yet another good tune gets slated. I think this is the best tune he's released from his new album so far.
