Ciara ft. Missy Elliott: 'Work'

She's a rival to Beyoncé's Feistiest Lady in R&B title and her dance moves wowed audiences on the Britney tour, but when it comes to actually releasing music, Ciara can be a little underwhelming. She tends to rely on guest artists to guarantee herself a hit - à la Keri Hilson - and to that end she's renewed her "special relationship" with Missy Elliott for new single 'Work'.

It's not as thumping as Kelly Rowland's 'Work', nor indeed The Saturdays' recent effort, but that's certainly not for want of trying. "When the song come on in the club, turn it up, turn it up, turn it up," hollers Elliott as 'Work' cranks into motion. Featuring a mish-mash of dance and hip-hop beats, a shouty "Work! Work!" hook, and even the thought-provoking line "You better shake that thang like a donkey!", this bears all the ingredients of a smash, but lacks the killer blow to leave you gasping for air. Still, having already teamed up with Enrique and Justin this year, there's no doubting that Ciara herself knows how to work it.
