Girls Can't Catch: 'Keep Your Head Up'

Having steered Girls Aloud to national treasure status, and made The Saturdays a fairly prominent fixture on the pop landscape, the good folks at Fascination Records are ready to launch another girlband. Enter stage right Daizy, Jess and Phoebe, known collectively as Girls Can't Catch. (At this stage it might be helpful to note that other mooted names included Hoodie Love, The Decibels and... erm... Gracie La La).

Anyway, this debut single is a big, chunky slab of electropop that really burrows into your brain after two or three plays. The girls' vocals are uniformly strong, suggesting they weren't lying when they called themselves "three lead singers", and there's a terrific "Thump! Thump!" finish that makes you want to press repeat on your iPod as soon as it ends. They'll need to stray a little further from Saturdays territory next time out, but for now 'Keep Your Head Up' is a pretty apt title.
