Frankmusik: 'Confusion Girl'

It's difficult to listen to 'Confusion Girl' without thinking of Holly Valance, partly because she appears in the video of course, but mainly because the lyrics seem to offer an insight into her recent split from Frankmusik. "So leaving me was your first step," the electropop wiz sings at one point, "Now you try to move on and forget".

Of course, 'Confusion Girl' has been knocking round the net for a couple of years now, so unless Frankmusik has a touch of the Mystic Meg about him, it couldn't possibly be about Valance. The track's changed a fair bit in that time, the sirens and near-industrial beats of the original being replaced by a lush, radio-friendly production from Stuart Price. Some of the original's frantic energy has been lost in the process, but Frankmusik's brilliant melodies now shine brighter than ever. Whatever the reasons for that split, his ability to compromise - and compromise well - can't have been an issue.

I think this song is the usual recycled mix of pop trash and stupid lyrics, coupled with a god awful video, i'm really not surprised it plummeted in the charts. The only good thing about it is Holly Valance, she helps relieve the audio nightmare.

I think it's a fairly good song, but I think it was released far too late and thus won't do very well.

Bit of a late convert to Frankmusik as this is the first track I have heard. Downloaded the Tinchy Stryder remix and think it's brilliant! Would actually download the album on the back of this...
