Calvin Harris: 'Ready For The Weekend'
The promise of a "barbeque summer" may not have panned out quite as we'd hoped, but that hasn't stopped Calvin Harris from wanting to sate our appetite for scorching dance anthems. Already responsible for 'I'm Not Alone', the first big club tune of the summer, the Scottish knob-twiddler is back and he's got one thing on his mind again.

Like many a night on the tiles, 'Ready For The Weekend' takes a while to get going, but once it does it's guaranteed to leave you satisfied. Beginning with snappy beats and tinkled ivories, it gradually builds momentum before a whopping great hook arrives at the 70-second mark. "Wooh! I've put on my shoes and I'm ready for the weekend!" booms Mary Pearce, a proper dance diva delivering a proper dance chorus. The result is another case of "mission accomplished" for Mr Harris - now all we need is a bit of sun.

I don't really like dance music but I really do like Calvin Harris. Part of me only thinks this because he is really fit. But it is a v. good song though =) x x

I'm going to push it by putting 4 stars but really I'd say perhaps 3.5 stars... I LOVE Calvin Harris myself but this just isn't near the quality of I'm Not Alone. However it's still a good track, very infectious, if a little cheesy. His next release Flashback is better. Can't wait for the album.

After such a massive hit like I'm Not Alone this is really disappointing. The video is pretty poor too.

I can't agree with the other comments on here, i'm not usually a massive fan of Calvin but for this, I give 4 stars. A little slow to get into yes, but as soon as the chorus kicks in that is all forgotten. It's only Monday but i'm so "ready for the weekend" already! :o)

didn't like it at first but it's grown on me a lot. i love how all his songs sound so different to each other, but most of them are equally impressive in my opinion. the chorus does get a bit annoying towards the end though - weekend weekend weekend!

It's alright, i download it about a month ago and listen to it once and haven't listened to it since. I'm not alone was ood worthy of 3 stars but this is only okay and deserves and maximum of 2.

Only a person who knows nothing about Dance music would say 'I'm not alone' was the big dance tune of the summer! I've never heard it any decent club. Thank god. This is average too. Faux dance music..it's just pop to be honest. And what a lazy title!
