Little Boots: 'Remedy'
There's certainly a flipside to the music industry's start of year hype machine. Just eight months since Little Boots topped the BBC's Sound of 2009 poll, and despite seeing her debut album crack the top five, there are already murmurings that the project might be sailing into shallow waters. But, speculation and rumours aside, there's no denying that Victoria Hesketh knows what makes a ruddy good pop song.

With producer of the moment RedOne behind the mixing desk, 'Remedy' has all the right ingredients to steer the good ship Boots towards safer seas. It's got a big synthy intro, a bombastic chorus reminiscent of late eighties Kylie, and best of all a sparkling and kaleidoscopic middle 8 that's one of the finest pop moments of the year. The whole is so irresistible that it makes you wonder how long it might be before we're all saying, "La Who"?

Though not a big fan of her...I actually didn't mind this song...but I don't think it deserves a 5 ....

Part of me wants to see Little Boots just so the so called experts and the BBC look bad but this is a good attempt. I don't think she is as good as La Roux (who is more unique) whilst Little Boots fits into the stereotypical feminine pop singer. But despite this she is talented without the vocal range of her peers Florence and Elly!

Oh shut up Sera, Jenny and Chris. La Roux thinks that she better than everyone else. She thinks her voice is special. Everytime I hear her songs on the tv or radio it's make my ears want to fall off. Her grumpy face is just worse. Wake up idiot she can't BLOODY SING!

Samantha, you don't know what you're talking about you dirty homophobe, La Roux isn't even a lesbian; just coz she's got short hair. I've got short hair and I'm not a lesbian. How stereo-typical! Sort your life out, luv. Along with Boots and Gaga, La Roux has made 2009 a fantastic year for music, so stop thinking you're hard with your keyboard... Ohh, and a fab song.

Just can't stop playing this, superb production, insanely catchy chorus and she's gorgeous. 3 minutes of absolute brilliance. Deserves to be number 1. Favourite track of the year.

Hmm, rethink that Samantha. La Roux is more successful than this Little Boots who thinks she'll be the next Madonna! This song is kind of catchy but not worthy of 5 stars. It's nothing new, rock on La Roux!

Samantha, you are actually really cruel. She does have a unique voice, name someone else at the moment with her voice then?? She's not a lesbian and it's not about looks, shows how shallow and narrow minded people can be. This is eurotrash to be honest she sounds like a younger Britney!!

Oh please! That cyber red head fugly lesbian does not have a 'unique voice'. She sings like and looks a 14 year ginger haired boy. Perfect pop song. I love it. At least she's normal

Have to agree with some people below; Europop rubbish! It's nothing new or exciting, and I hope she doesn't make it to number 1, sorry.

"you wonder how long it might be before we're all saying, "La Who"?" That is complete rubbish! La Roux is fresh, with a unique voice...Little Boots sounds exactly the same as other pop artists. Rant over, however I find this song catchy but I wouldn't give it 5 stars, it isn't THAT good.

This song is horrible, it's sounds like it could be the Romanian Eurovision entry from 1997.

When I heard the 1st verse I wasn't sure but then when it got to the chorus I saw how catchy this song actually is and now I love it! Wouldn't give it 5 stars though when people like Esmee Denters are getting 2.

Little Boots really has outdone herself with this track. It's the best on the album. I hope this song becomes breakthough top 10 hit she been longing for. BEST SONG AT THE MOMENT!

Cracking production on this - the vibe of subtle menace in the bass line. Deserves to be a huge hit.

I love this song and it is so catchy. I hope this gets to number 1 and deserves to do better than what New In Town did. She looks very stylish as well. Good work.
