Jamie T: 'Chaka Demus'
Sadly, Jamie T hasn't tapped into the spirit of '90s reggae duo Chaka Demus & Pliers here - the second trailer from his upcoming Kings And Queens album is more of his usual boisterous indie-rap. However, we're happy to report that this is the only disappointment on 'Chaka Demus', which carries on where his last single 'Sticks 'N' Stones' left off.

"A lot of people around here lost the whites of their eyes," he sings on the track's joyous pop chorus, before adding the intriguing refrain: "See the lust inside your heart and I don't want to touch the sky." The rest of the track veers between frantic, politicised raps ("Two world wars and one World Cup, screamed by the desperate divided crutch") and scruffy guitar jangling, but there's also a newly spruced-up melodic edge - check out the "woo-hoo-hoo" backing vocals - that makes it worthy of mainstream attention.

This deserves a place in the top 10! I really can't fault it, I agree with James and Lydia.

Banana Splits! that's what the backing vocal sounds like! for some reason this song reminds me of chilled-out weekend summer afternoons, really refreshing.

This song shows Jamie T at his best! Very catchy, and I hope he gets more recognition as he will be big-as much as Radio 1 keep playing his songs, he's still not well known!
