Mika: 'We Are Golden'
Mika splits opinion like asking a party of eight-year-olds whether they'd like ice cream or custard with their apple pie. To his fans, he's a charming performer, a gifted tunesmith and a gleefully uninhibited singer. To his detractors, he's only slightly less irritating than pubic lice.

'We Are Golden', the lead single from his upcoming second album, is unlikely to change anyone's mind. It sounds like Jim Steinman doing High School Musical and features two varieties of choir - gospel and kiddie, in case you were wondering. Mika, meanwhile, flits in and out of falsetto whenever he fancies. What do we think? Well, the big old chorus makes his foibles worth putting up with... as long as we don't have to watch the video too.

I hate being ripped off--especially by fellow songwriters. I don't mind being copied in a flattering way, but if you are going to "copy" "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" at least do two things: Send me a royalty check Write a GOOD song not a BAD one

Mika and his song "We Are Golden" are clearly irresponsible. The song romances and glamorizes a lack of focus in young minds. It emphasizes jolly meandering over responsibility, education, and discipline. Having fun is an important part of life and is necessary, but the fragile minds of my nations teenagers will desperately look to this song as an excuse for their fragility. When I hear this song I can only picture teenagers taking comfort that everything will be okay because there is always someone else to take care of things for me. We all know that life does not work this way. Regardless, the song completely sucks and is irritating, anyway.

I hate the falsetto bits on the song but overall it's an alright song though!! Little bit flat in my opinion....

Awful!!! This song is utter garbage, that left the country years ago. He may have had a no.1 with Grace Kelly, but we've evolved from that, Mika lives in the old ages, get ahead and keep up! Worst single of the year IMO.

I am often disappointed by second albums (I shall mention no names!), but this new brilliant single from Mika gives me hope that his new album will be every bit as good as his first. Mika's performance on Tonight with Jonathan Ross last week has convinced me to out and buy this single and his soon-to-be-released second album.

It's not really anything like 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth': it's "Free Love On The Free Love Freeway" from The Office. Try singing along to it - David Brent would be proud. That said, it's pure singalong campness which makes a refreshing change from the current crop of pretty mediocre offerings in the singles chart.

This is a gem, it's what is missing in so much music these days, i.e. it's pure, unadulterated, unabashed fun..and why not? Saw this on Jonathan Ross last night and will definitely be buying it via download when it comes out. This is catchy, lively, full of energy and more than a little sophisticated and this is the trick with this guy. He may have a "Queen" complex and obsession but he's every bit as inventive. Rich.

Sorry, but the hook is Belinda Carlisles 'Heaven is a place on Earth' I liked the first album, and no doubt this will end up sticking in my head. At the moment, not impressed.

I can't be doing with the screeching in this one, a very disappointing comeback to be honest.
