Basshunter: 'Every Morning'
"The beats are still quite hard and the riffs are still Basshunter," Jonas Altberg told DS when asked to describe his upcoming Bass Generation album. The Eurodance star, who induced 100,000 headaches last year with his No.1 breakthrough hit 'Now You're Gone', is back. His label may have granted him extra time to work on new tunes, but Nurofen bosses need not fear - he hasn't used it to reinvent his sound.

There's a faintly indie guitar jangle in the intro and there's even the faintest hint of a melody lurking behind the computer-generated throbbing, so it could be argued that 'Every Morning' is a faint improvement from his frankly atrocious 2008 LP. However, the babes-in-bikinis video, his lyrics - about a beautiful girl bringing him a cup of coffee - and tiresome tinny beats are evidence that second time around it's a case of evolution rather than revolution for Basshunter.

The lyric in this song that goes: 'every morning she wakes me up with a cup of coffee' is the WORST lyric I've ever heard in dance music. You don't see acts like the Priodgy writing lyrics like that would you?

Why is this review so bland? It was nice to even see Basshunter even try guitars for once, is that not worth at least another star for trying? It takes about three listens to really like this song and it worked with me. Very intrigued to the ending of the music video, considering ALL of them have been happy endings.

he's first 2 songs were good, when what happened he released like 4 completely sh*t ones. And guess what so is this one, pure garbage, if this is his first offering from his second album he needs to do something quick to make this album good. poor single, poor fisrt single.

another pile of dance garbage that sounds exactly like everything this guy has ever done and the dance music genre as a whole. Perfect music for the CHAV generation who can't handle any songs which have decent well written lyrics they can just about cope with some talentless muppet singing the same thing over and over again to a repetitive dance track. Thick music for thick people.

Has anyone else noticed that all of Basshunter's songs sound the same - same beat etc?

It's just the same as his other music and it's getting a little bit tiresome now. If he released a ballad or an R&B track (something that differs from his music scene), then everyone (not just fans) would buy and download it.

More proof that Alex Fletcher hasn't got a clue what he is talking about.

i don't need to be told that Basshunter's music is hardly inventive or worthy of any critical praise. it's cheap, simple, throwaway Eurodance. if you're looking for music that is creative and has meaning to it, look elsewhere. if you like upbeat and lively dance music to be enjoyed for the moment and not taken seriously as 'real' music then this song might fit the bill. snobs and purists love calling it music for 'chavs' but who has ever cared what they think? i'm a stay-at-home 20-year-old who enjoys all kinds of music, commercial and less-commercial. if liking this song is a crime to those who like 'proper music' then good. phew, there, i got that out. anyway, i do like this song, it's typical Basshunter really, except for the guitar intro which is nice, the lyrics are bad as usual, although they are just a filler, but i love how it builds up to the main part, then kicks off. not as strong as Now You're Gone or it's follow up, but it should still appeal to many fans.

i think this review is a little unfair. what were you expecting from basshunter?? i think its a happy boppy catchy tune, all the right ingredients for a eurodance hit. certainly his best song since 'all i ever wanted'. it will do well regardless
