Lady GaGa: 'LoveGame'
"I wanna take a ride on your disco stick," Lady GaGa sings at the beginning of 'LoveGame', offering a neat but incomplete summary of why she's become the breakthrough star of 2009. Yes, it's a shameless piece of attention-seeking, and a rather obvious one too, but be it sigh, smirk or sneer, it's guaranteed to provoke a reaction.

The other side of GaGa's success, of course, is her songs. 'LoveGame' isn't as massive as 'Poker Face', nor as melodically brilliant as 'Paparazzi', but it's still a ruthlessly effective electro-R&B club banger. GaGa gives great "Huh!", RedOne keeps the beats big and beefy, and there are enough hooks to keep every component of a GaGa outfit off the dressing room floor. Four singles in, if you're still denying her pop smarts, you're being a bit of a disco stick.

I have to be honest I think Gaga is doing an okay job and not bad...but seriously I have to change the channel sometimes cause the videos can be too much for me and the family and friends and Disco Stick? A bit too much info for the kids?

Agree with Veronica; Lady Gaga is a talented hard working real artist who has experimented - over time - with her look. She is not selling sex. It's just an issue she chooses to write about; if she doesn't want to write, sing and perform 'meaningful' music that's up to her, at least it sounds good. She's independent and not mechanical or manufactured like certain acts dominating the charts today, whom I will not name. I actually have respect for artists - you should try it sometime rather than bashing it.

Fantastic song. And to the person below-people are not aspiring to be like Gaga. They just like her interesting fashion sense, as do I. Lady Gaga is all for surprising people, and she is not talentless as she knows music, and worked hard to get where she is now. She didn't just go on a singing show. She experimented with the music and has written all of the songs on her album. Oh, and if you hear some of her acoustic versions on youtube (I especially recommend her rendition of Viva La Vida), you'll find out she has a nice, smoky voice. She also plays her own instruments and composes her own music. I find her exhilarating. She's a fantasic performance artist.

Mr Tumnus, Narnia on September 24th, 2009 She's a dirty looking talentless tart. That doesn't go far enough to describe this plastic bag! Sex sells and that is the case with this song. I bet all the people who like this song have erection every time they see her or here her groan like she's being porked! It's official people listen with there genitals as opposed to ears. What's a more worrying is that little girls aspire to be like her, so where going to have a lot of little girls taking rides on disco sticks then!

This is as good as Just Dance, Poker Face and Paparazzi, maybe even more better and catchy! It's nice to see that she can make different songs, although the beats are very similar. It so deserves an extra star in the review!

I'm just waiting for the over-exposure to kill her off in a year, and then this self-obsessed egotist can hopefully learn the lesson that long-term success in life doesn't come from being in love with the sound of your own heels. And to the lady herself, I have but one question.. "What do you look like without the kilos of make-up and the hours of air-brushing?" Get over yourself.

Rumour and certain footage on youtube indicates that she may well have her own disco stick...

like most things gaga touches, it turns to at least a nice shiny silver - usually solid gold. to deny this woman is talented is really quite idiotic. her songs are shallow dance pop, but with underlying messages - however, the music is only half the story with gaga. she's the whole package; the image, the performance, the music, the shock. 'LOVEGAME' isn't the best single on the album, however it's appropriate for the 4th (lets not forget how unnusual it is for a debut artist to release FOUR singles from their album). i'd predict it will get into early teens providing it gets airplay and promotion - FFS GAGA GET OVER HERE AND PROMOTE IT! the best thing about Lady GaGa? she's only just fucking begun!

I love Lady GaGa's music. I have her album and think it's great! Poker Face will always be the best, but this tune is still quite good!
