Jade Ewen: 'My Man'
Synths straight off an Usher single, bassy R&B beats, vocals for which the term "funky diva" could have been invented... Who's singing this then? Jade Ewen you say. Huh? Jade Ewen as in standing-next-to-Andrew-Lloyd-Webber-at-Eurovision Jade Ewen? Crikey, you've got to be having us on.

But we're not. 'My Man' is a complete U-turn from the X Factor winner's song/showtune hybrid Ewen trilled in Moscow earlier this year. It's a sassy R&B club banger on which she pledges devotion to a man who sounds almost too good to be true - he's not just "seductive" and "irresistible", but "intellectual" too apparently. Ewen reckons this is the real her, Lloyd Webber says it's "very contemporary pop", and we'd slip a "good" in front of the "contemporary" to complete his assessment.

Terrible song, she walks around in the video like a tramp, I hate that shes in Sugababes now. She may have a good voice but her solo effort is terrible as is her career move to join Sugababes.

Emilia: It says the song was Xfactor winner style :) You're right it was Andrew Lloyd Webber's show :)

It says her eurovision song is X-factor-winner-ish... if that makes sense? She has one AMAZING VOICE and as Mutya herself has said she has a better voice than Heidi and Amelle and if anything will be fronting the band. So there everyone calling her a 'wannabe'... although true she is NO SUGABABE... she can do so much better!

Emilia, it says "xfactor winners song/showtune hybrid", it's not saying she is an x-factor winner, just that her Eurovision song was similar to that style of song. Anyway, great song, shame she's a sugababe, I'd rather see her as a solo artist.

It says in the review that Jade is an X-factor winner? Is this true? Perhaps its just me but I though she did that Andrew Lloyd Webber thing on the BBC? Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, the song is a nice change. I like it.

there no point in jade realising any songs as she a new member of sugababes.

She sucks. As said SHE'S A WANNABE! It would be a travesty is she became a Sugababe. DS 4 stars? please. 2 stars at best and that's pushing it. These reviews seem to be getting worse. Eugh!

She's a such a wannabe. Interviews she comes across very rude. She's a flop. Her label should drop her she's rubbish.

in response to 'stacy from london'. i dont know how you can call somone who can sing very well a 'wannabe singer' thats just ridiculous - go back to school!haha. also i think jade is much better as a solo, and i would love to see mutya rejoin the sugababes after that waste of space amelle has finally made up her mind.

its a great tune. but unfortunatly it will fail in the charts. i have not seen any promotion for it, and radio1 have refused to playlist the song (which i find strange because she was discovered on a BBC primetime show!), its a shame because it would have given it a much needed boost, she may have cracked the top 10.

pleasantly surprised by this, such a far cry from that cheesy Eurovision song! a classy R&B tune, which suits Jade well. she shows off her strong voice again, and she looks great in the video. yes it's contemporary, as is most stuff these days, but as i always say - what's wrong with enjoying things for the moment?
