Are you high? This song is freaking amazing!
Iceman, Leeds on October 29th, 2009
It just goes to show that anything that doesn't conform to the pretty pop that dominates modern day charts, doesn't get rated or in fact do well in the charts. I just think the duo ought to continue soldiering through and not change there style to appeal to the passive sheep who we call the mass consumers. They may even become somewhat of a cult, that people who like me who don't like listening to the same old hip hop, RnB, Plastic Fantastic Pop may become fans of. LaRoux reclaiming pop!
Mark, Huddersfield on September 29th, 2009
The song is awful! Her voice really annoys me!
Steph, Portsmouth on September 28th, 2009
I really dislike La Roux, the girl fronting them has no charisma and cant sing, her voice is shockingly bad, the songs themselves would be better if sung by someone with a nice voice, I also hate the "sound" of each single that stupid electro computer game backing urgghh!!!
Chris, Suffolk on September 28th, 2009
I can't stand it, the opening sounds like i'm listening to a video game being played and the song is just terrible. 1 out of 5 for me!
Jon, Glasgow on September 27th, 2009
Oh come on guys.. this song is fantastic. You just need to give the song a few listens to get into it. It was this song that made my friend (who previously hated la roux) change her mind completely, now she loves them :D and well... if thats not saying anything about this song, then i guess you're just not giving it a chance. excellent song!
Rory, Cardiff on September 27th, 2009
I think it's ok, but probably most of the songs on the album wernt good. Its really catchy yet simple song. But you will fall in love with it if you see the video.
Paul, Glasgow on September 26th, 2009
I love La Roux and her album but this song is an awful single choice. She shoulda picked Tigerlilly.
phil glasgow on September 26th, 2009
has anyone actually got the album? its amazin! and this song is great
miles pearce basingstoke on September 25th, 2009
forgot to star
miles pearce basingstoke on September 25th, 2009
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. hideous, just like bulletproof. In For the kill is listenable but it aint amazing, she sings like kermit the frog on drugs sucking a balloon, and the song is just terriable hopes its a flop.
sarah, brighton on September 25th, 2009
Its not very good! she seems to be quite angry in interviews too. Her clothes and hair are not that great! PUT SOME LIPSTICK ON SWEETHEART! ;@)
Hannah, Manchester on September 25th, 2009
Awful music from an awful singer
I HATE LA ROUX! on September 25th, 2009
OMG I HATE LA ROUX, THE SONG IS RUBBISH, ALL HER SONGS HAVE BEEN RUBBISH!!! MY OPINION: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SONG! BUY OOPSY DAISY BY CHIPMUNK INSTEAD, THAT WAY YOU GET A GREAT SONG BY A GREAT SINGER!!! :D
Neo, London on September 25th, 2009
Have to agree with you David. Love La Roux but a very odd choice of single.
Ben, Witney on September 24th, 2009
Bulletproof was a fantastic song! this is awful just like In for the kill.
Callum, UK on September 24th, 2009
Slightly hypocritical review after the glowing write up your site gave the album. But there you go. I guess some people only stick by the fire when it's hot. Shame! It is a standout track. Yes the pre-chorus is better than the chorus, but the chorus doesn't always have to be the best part.
vinnie cook, luton on September 24th, 2009
Who ever wrote this review needs to be fired. They have no sense of good music when they hear it. This is a brilliant 3rd single and the best option from the album. The video is great, and its even catchy. I think the BBC radio 1 agree with me as the song was put straight onto the A list. This review is going to look so very silly when the single breaks the top 10, it even has no.1 potential I believe, that depending on how hot the competition gets.
Jack, Chesterfield on September 24th, 2009
I agree with the review. I hated "In For The Kill", loved "Bulletproof" (probably my song of the summer), but I hate this song.
Joe, Wales on September 24th, 2009
Worth atleast 4 stars IMO. Not the best track on the album, but a very good try, think you'll be surprisd with the charting of this single, DS!
Katy, Manchester on September 24th, 2009
It's not awful, but it's not brilliant either. I imagine this flopping, which is a shame. I do like this song, but it's not the best on the album and not particularly worthy of a release.
Ben Sullivan on September 24th, 2009
I think this is their best effort yet (especially the video) and that the above review is way off. Elly's singing is less shrill than before and the whole song is a little more sophisticated; i.e. It doesn;t get annoying after a few listens. Although many people wanted Tigerlily I think this is an excellent choice for their 4th single.
Alan, Cork on September 24th, 2009
Definately agree, pretty bad song. Why on Earth didn't they release Tigerlily? Or re-release Quicksand, arguably the best song on the album in my opinion. Or perhaps even Cover My Eyes?? All of these are worth ten of I'm Not Your Toy.
Sam, Tower Hamlets on September 24th, 2009
Awful song by an awful singer.
Gareth, Gloucester on September 24th, 2009
I bloody love this, the first few times I heard it I though it was generic rubbish but after watching the video, I can't get enough of this song.
Emma on September 24th, 2009
To be fair, This song is not as good as Bulletproof and In For The Kill so there is no need for it to be getting 4 and 5 stars. If people are saying its not as god why are they rating this sng 5 stars. Bias much? And Radio are also extremely Bias towards music they playlist. Elly has no star quality or an overally amazing voice,She has the least stage presents of any other new act i have seen. Although some of her music is good i can't help to be put off her music by her attitude towards other acts!
Megs, Sussex on September 24th, 2009
Totally agree with you. This song is awful!! Not a massive fan of La Roux to be fair but even this could not have got much worse!!
Ols on September 24th, 2009
Agree to a point that there are a couple of more obvious single choices on the album (I'd rather have seen Reflections Are Protections or As If By Magic), but at the end of the day, each track on the La Roux album has its own character, yet is still clearly a La Roux track, so you won't get another Bulletproof. A nice change of pace I think and much, much better than other songs of a similar mid-tempo ilk that you've given higher ratings to. Judge a song by itself, not by its predocessors.
Paul, Bristol on September 24th, 2009
You do not know any decent music, Mr. Balls. I admit, it's not as good as In For The Kill and Bulletproof, but it is still a blooming brilliant bit of music which does not deserve two stars
One&Only X on September 24th, 2009
HUGE stepdown from In For The Kill and Bulletproof. She can't sing. I really dislike the song. WTF! is the video about?
vinnie cook, Luton on September 24th, 2009
You must be joking or deaf. This is definatly the best option as thrid single release. Its catchy, has a great sound, and has a great video. I would say Radio 1 agree with me too as the song has gone straight onto the A list. This is definatly a top 10. Its brilliant! Who ever wrote this review needs to be axed, they have no sense of good music when they hear it.
anna, london on September 24th, 2009
you obviously have no ears... this is just as catchy and appealing as the last two singles.
Andrew, West Yorkshire on September 24th, 2009
I totally agree with this review, the single is dreadful when compared with the rest of the absolutely fantastic album they have produced, it really is the worst track! They should have released Tiger Lilly or As if by Magic! Such a shame!!
