Alexandra Burke ft. Flo Rida: 'Bad Boys'

After she won X Factor at the end of last year, Syco packed off Alexandra Burke to the States to work with the sort of producers most pop wannabes would gladly fetch Rizlas for: RedOne ('Poker Face'), Stargate ('Don't Stop The Music'), Ryan Tedder ('Bleeding Love'). Quite rightly, they see the 21-year-old Londoner as more Leona than Leon (Jackson, 2007 champ, in case you'd forgotten).

Quite rightly again - given Burke's sass and all-round performance skills - they haven't gone with a ballad for her first proper single. Instead they've plumped for this corker, a stomping electro-R&B tune with a chorus that grabs you on first listen, loads of big rubbery beats and some impossible-not-to-join-in-with backing vocals. "Oohwayoohwah" indeed! 'Bad Boys' is so much fun it even pulls off a minor pop miracle - turning a Flo Rida cameo into a good thing.
